Over the past two years, our community has been deeply affected by numerous teen suicides, and bullying has continued to plague our schools. Many of us have lost close friends to these serious issues. In 2009, five students of the Palo Alto Unified School District committed suicide followed by several other incidents in neighboring cities, bringing the issue closer to home. Since these incidents, this “solution” to teen problems has become frighteningly more enticing. Just this last October, another student of Harker School in San Jose took her own life, traumatizing students, faculty, and the community. There is not a single high school student who is not connected to a friend who has at least considered suicide as a “solution" and that so many of our peers are victimized each day. We not only need to pull our friends from the cliff’s edge, but that we must also prevent them from feeling the need to consider such an option--take the cliff out of the picture, if you will. Thus, we bring you TUNED IN, and of course, Parachute, to raise awareness and funds for Suicide Prevention and Anti-Bullying. Join us for this important day and an amazing celebration of what we can do to affect change together.
The name says it all. During its 30 years of phenomenal success, Pride & Joy has remained the most popular party band on the Bay Area music scene. This group is the Pride of the Bay Area and a Joy to anyone who loves to dance. They have achieved this by presenting the most timeless pop/soul music of our time in an electrifying high- style show that pulls the audience directly into the heart of their performance.
“Its always been natural for us to reach out and draw in the audience. We make the people feel they’re part of the performance because they are,” says Pride and Joy founder and bandleader Coleman Burke. “That’s what Pride and Joy has always been about...creating a great feeling in the room. That’s as important a part of our show as the work we put into our look, choreography and arrangements.”

The Bay Area’s HOUSE OF FLOYD performs the music of Pink Floyd, and has gained a strong following for their unique ability to enthuse both the hard-core fans of the early adventurous Floyd and those who enjoy the songs and soundscapes that later brought them widespread appeal. They capture the essence of each of the various Pink Floyd eras from the formative Syd Barrett days, through the 70’s and the final post-Waters era.
In the Pink Floyd tradition, a HOUSE OF FLOYD concert incorporates sound effects, moving lights, lasers and video projection - including many of the original, legendary backing films used by Pink Floyd. The set lists on any given night might be from an actual Pink Floyd concert, or a custom HOUSE OF FLOYD mix, but always includes rarely heard live arrangements used by Pink Floyd in concert – as well as the occasional obscure pieces that never made it to vinyl and were heretofore unknown to all but the serious collectors.
HOUSE OF FLOYD affords the opportunity for those who never saw Pink Floyd to “get” what made those shows so extraordinary. Those who were fortunate enough to have seen Pink Floyd in concert, get the chance to experience it again albeit by a pretty exciting “surrogate band.” You may even see a giant inflatable pig!

Vudu Café featuring Jesse Flores “the New Voice of Chicano Rock”
Vudu Cafe is a powerhouse Chicano Rock band based between Houston & Austin Texas. The band consists of California native Jesse Flores on vocals/guitar, and Texas natives Tyson Sheth on drums, Jorge Siller on Bass, and Michael Ramos on keyboards. Vudu Café is on the forefront of Chicano Rock in Texas and is currently promoting their CD, "Chicano Life", produced by Jesse Flores (lead singer, song writer, and guitarist) and co-produced with Andy Bradley (Sugar Hill Studios) and Michael Ramos (Los Lonely Boys, John Mellancamp, The Bodeans, The Rembrandts).
For Jesse, Vudu Café is more than a band that plays great music; it's his way of life. Growing up listening to his older brothers jamming to "Tell Her She's Lovely" & his older sisters slow dancing to "Suavecito", it gave him the desire to start singing. Every night when Vudu Café hits the stage, it's not about if it's a sold out to capacity crowd (usually it is....) it's about the here and now, everyone has come together in one place, at one time to support their Chicano music heritage.
Salvador Santana Music is a burst of choices. Not only what note to play when and with what instrument, but whether to play a note at all. Salvador Santana , the 28-year-old keyboardist, vocalist, composer and songwriter with strong Bay Area roots, knows what it means to navigate the infinite options of music.
Collaboration has always been the centerpiece of Santana's creations, and this passion manifested his solo debut Keyboard City (released February 2, 2011 via Various Music/Quannum Projects) around the inspirations of a few legends: Bay Area MC/producer Del the Funky Homosapien (who helped hone in Santana’s writing skills,) Beastie Boy studio wizard Money Mark and GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan. “With all the people I’ve ever collaborated with or just working by myself, I have never produced such a range of ideas in my songs as I did during the Money Mark sessions. That guy is just a machine,” said Santana. “He has mentored me by showing me that it’s cool to be all over the place. It’s cool to sit there and work on a song, then out of nowhere, interrupt that flow and work on another idea. To just go with it,” Santana elaborates. Santana is pushed by a need to step out of his comfort zone in a quest for new ideas. Easy going and humble, Santana exudes the Bay Area vibe.

Graham Russell & Russell Hitchcock met on May 12, 1975, the first day of rehearsals for "Jesus Christ Superstar" in Sydney, Australia; they became instant friends with their common love for The Beatles and, of course, singing. After the shows' performances at 10:30, they would play pizza parlors, coffee bars and night clubs with just one guitar and two voices. They quickly gained a reputation for great harmonies and for original songs that Graham was constantly writing. They made a demo on a cassette of two songs, "Love and Other Bruises" and "If You Knew Me" and took it to every record company in Sydney. Everyone turned it down but one — CBS Records — who admired their unique style. They made a single in one afternoon and it shot to number one on the national charts. Air Supply was born! They had a succession of hits worldwide, including eight Top Ten hits in the United States, in the early 1980s. They formed in Melbourne, Australia in 1975 and have included various accompanying musicians and singers. In 2011, the duo continues to play more than 150 shows a year worldwide, including stops in England, Ireland, Israel, Philippines, Korea, Japan, Canada, the U.S. and beyond.
Some of their hit song are: * All Out of Love * Making Love Out of Nothing At All * Lost in Love * Here I am

"Their two-step, harmony-filled ragers have the crowd jumping and swaying…" -The Bay Bridged
Take two prolific, Americana singer-songwriters, an indie-rock veteran of a drummer, country-born bassist, and metal-bred pedal steel player, and what do you get: the rough-hewn yet driftwood-smooth; rebel-headed, but heart-of-gold sound of The Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit. The Outfit includes singer-songwriters Chris Doud and Will Taylor, drummer Aaron Burtch, bassist and harmonies, Taylor Webster, master of all lead instruments, Matt Cordano, and newest member Chandler Pratt on Mandolin/Guitar. Any Outfit member may tell you that it’s plenty just to be at the pinnacle of a local music scene embracing roots and Americana music, but, as one recent convert put it, “the rest of America needs to hear this noise.” Likened to anything from Old Crow Medicine Show and The Avett Bros. to Asleep at the Wheel, Bob Wills and even Neil Young (depending on which live set you happen to catch) they most often defy categorization, usually settling for some hybrid of Americana, folk, rock, bluegrass, and that sweet, old country & western. They describe their efforts as trying to make good, honest, insightful music, that’s not afraid of a good time and a little fun, that people will move their feet to, and also goes real well with a straight road and a long drive.

Devils are not the only thing to come from Tasmania. Singer-songwriter Audrey Auld's heart is in Country, Folk and Americana music with a presence as big as The Outback. Her songs and stories are the wry and poignant observations of a Tassie girl living in California and Nashville since 2003. Audrey calls it "Music with the dirt left on. Audrey Auld is a favorite with KPIG's Sleepy John and will be a guest on his "Please Stand By" show, Sunday morning, July 22.
Says John, "I have hosted over 700 live music shows on KPIG radio, and, if asked to give the top 10 performers Audrey Auld would be on that list. She has a great voice and writes serious songs and humorous song that make you think and laugh, but the best part is that she is a great entertainer."
Joining Audrey this evening are Camille and Stuie , her friends from Down Under, on their first CA tour. Stuie French is a master of the country/jazz guitar-style (Les Paul invited him up to play in New York), and his smooth voice harks back to the days of Tommy Duncan singing with Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys – no pretense or exaggeration. Seat Replacement Project Help Make Our Beloved Community Theatre The Best Venue on the Peninsula!
Hello Fox Supporters. This year we will begin the largest renovation project in recent Fox Theatre history. We will be replacing all of the seats in the venue. Nobody knows for sure, but we think the seats might be anywhere from 30 to 50 years old. It is time for them to be replaced. We have identified the company for the job and are very pleased with the historical design of the new seats. As this will be a very costly renovation, we are asking friends and patrons of the Fox to help out with this renovation. Each new seat costs $150 and we have a total of 1370 seats to replace. The entire project will cost a little lover $200,000. We sure could use your help. If you find it in your heart to donate to this worthy cause, we are sure you will enjoy sitting in our brand new seats at future shows. In addition to your future comfort, we are offering the following benefits for becoming a donor of the Fox Theatre Seat Renovation Project:
- Family Name Memorialized on Donor Plaque in Lobby -Two Complimentary Tickets To Any Upcoming Public Show (value $100) - Donation is Tax Deductible
